A small online circle for women, gathering weekly through somatic and experiential practice, meaningful conversation and connection.

EMBODIED LIVING CIRCLE

A space to practice a different way of being with ourselves, with each other, and with Life.

what else is possible?

Many of us have learned to move through life half a step ahead of ourselves.

We anticipate. We plan. We manage. We keep going. We try to make the right decisions and hold everything together. These ways of being have often served us. They may be part of how we’ve created the lives we have.

And still, at some point, we may begin to notice the cost.

We may long to slow down, but fear that if we do, nothing will get done. We may want to trust ourselves more, while still looking outside ourselves for the right answer. We may sense how much of our energy goes toward managing life rather than actually inhabiting it.

Can I still create, move, choose and participate fully in my life without always pushing myself through it?

AND WE BEGIN TO WONDER

SOMETHING WE PRACTICE

Another
way of being with Life

Embodied Living is an exploration of that possibility.

This isn’t about replacing one set of rules for living with another. And it isn’t something we can simply understand our way into.

We practice noticing.
We practice listening.
We practice coming back into relationship with our bodies, our own knowing, and what is actually here.

We explore what happens when we loosen our grip a little. When we make room for uncertainty. When we become curious about the conditioning underneath our choices. When we allow ourselves not only to act upon Life, but to receive from it.

And then we take that practice back into our actual lives.

Not a way of withdrawing from our lives. A way of being more fully in them.

WHAT TO EXPECT

We may begin with movement, breath, music or sensing—ways of exploring through direct experience rather than thought alone. From there, there is room for honest conversation and reflection about what is alive in our lives and what we’re beginning to notice.

We may explore themes such as trust, control, worth, conditioning, pleasure, fear and receiving. Sometimes we gather as a whole circle; sometimes there may be space for a more intimate exchange with another woman.

The practice continues beyond our time together through simple invitations to notice how what we’re exploring appears in everyday life, and through a shared online space where we can remain connected between gatherings.

INSIDE THE CIRCLE

Each Circle takes its own shape.

The Circle has structure, but it isn’t rigid. What emerges in the room matters too.

who is this circle for?

This Circle may be for you if you know how to make things happen.

You’re capable. You think ahead. You figure things out. You keep moving. And perhaps you’re beginning to realize that you don’t want to live your whole life from that place.

You want to slow down without becoming stagnant.
To trust yourself without having everything figured out.
To listen more closely to your body and your own knowing.
To experience more pleasure, openness and receptivity without losing your capacity to act.
To participate fully in your life—but with less gripping, less should, and more room to actually be here for it.

You don’t need to know how to do that already. That’s what we’re here to practice.

perhaps this is you

Some things come to be known differently in relationship.

Someone gives words to something we thought was only ours. We recognize ourselves in another woman’s experience. We discover what it’s like to be seen without first having to figure ourselves out.

Over time, the women around us become part of the practice too—people who know something of our inner world, who have witnessed us, and alongside whom we have practiced showing up a little more fully.

why together

The Circle has structure, but it isn’t rigid. What emerges in the room matters too.

“Thank you for holding space for my deep self and for guiding me in connecting with and listening to the emotions that have been stuck in my body. I understand now that my body speaks in colours, shapes, animals, and sensations, rather than words, and that's ok. I've been developing a morning ritual where I get up when the house is quiet and dark, and I do yoga, meditate, and listen to my body. My startle response has calmed down. I will miss you and our time together. Near or far, I expect a season will come when I will knock on your door again with a new goal. I hope you will still be doing this work because it is so needed and you do it so well. The world is a better place because you are in it.” D.S., 40

Somatic therapy has calmed my startle response

“We worked with Fiona to help us navigate and heal a rupture in our relationship - one that we didn't know we would come back from. But we were committed to doing the work to find out. The good news, two years later, we are the most solid and committed we have been, and our work with Fiona plays a huge part in that success. We found her ability to bring both intuition and practical tools extremely helpful. She helped us feel the feelings if we didn't have the words for them, gave us tools we could use when navigating conflict, and helped us understand that conflict is normal and human - it's how you repair that brings you back together. We went from days of tense, post-conflict aftermath to rebounding within hours after working with Fiona and that holds true years after working with her. We are forever grateful, and to any couple committed to doing the work, you are in good hands.” M.K., 39 + J.G., 46

Somatic therapy has made our relationship better

I’ve thought about you so often over the years, and about the profound support and meaning our work together gave me. Truly, working with you was life-changing. I still think about the support you offered, the perspective you helped me develop on living and growth, and I carry those lessons with me every day. I truly think the kind of support you offer is utterly singular. A. M., 34

working with you was life-changing

"I'm shifting in ways that I have never imagined. This isn't the work I'm used to doing in counselling, and yet when the connection happens and release comes I feel like I have unloaded years worth of heavy emotions. My life is naturally shifting in ways that I never imagined possible, my body has started to process emotion differently, I am thinking about life differently, and I feel powerful." A. L., 45

Somatic therapy with Fiona is changing my life

"Working with Fiona and implementing somatic modalities in my life, has completely transformed my relationship with myself and the world around me. As I learn to connect with my body, I become more attune to my inner child and my authentic self.  Fiona has taught me how to hold space for myself, how to let go of guilt and has helped me recognize that it is safe for me to experience a happy life of my own definition" A. B., 32

I can finally hear myself again and my true desires

“Fiona is very accomplished at her craft; compassionate and insightful in her observations as well as clear and concise in her manner of speaking. I would suggest her to anyone who is facing turmoil and seeking clarity and grounding. I felt very supported by Fiona not only when I was grieving (so much crying!) but also as I turned the corner and began to feel whole again. She shared in my joy of self discovery and I believe she genuinely cared how things developed for me. ” B. C., 59

kept me focused on growing my self awareness.

"From the very first session, I felt we made significant headway into 'the meat of the sandwich'; I am quite accustomed to having such 'breakthroughs' only after several sessions with someone. Fiona has consistently delved straight into old wounds with our sessions and I have left each discussion with a noticeable feeling of being lighter and finding release of old tension - some of that tension I was not even aware existed within me. I highly recommend Fiona as a therapist/counsellor - she is incredible at what she does and is an amazing guide on your path to healing!" K. C., 46

After years of talk therapy, grateful to have found Fiona

“I feel incredibly seen by Fiona and working with her has changed my life. With gentle, deeply compassionate, and incisive clarity, Fiona gets to the heart of the issues I raise in our sessions. I leave our sessions with a fresh, always resonating, perspective on something I've been struggling with. Fiona provides specific therapeutic tools which power my own work outside of the sessions and have enriched my life greatly. .”  M. B., 38
